The Feelfree Vietnam Story
We first visited Vietnam way back in 1993, it was very different then but it gave a rare insight to the unique sights, sounds, smells and foods that are the main reasons why people travel. Things have moved and are moving so fast in Vietnam and with tourism exploding as it becomes a popular travel destination.
Whilst initially just organising tours showcasing Hoi An to family and friends, rather quickly things changed. Word of mouth quickly spread about us and then friends of friends also wanted to participate on a personalised tour experiencing the delights of Hoi An's cuisine. With a barrage of freely given advice, we gladly took that advice onboard and set up a business called Hoi An Food Safari, this was 2014. From our humble beginnings with just one Hoi An food tour, we have now expanded to use our local knowledge and experience to include both an 8 and 14 day tour of central Vietnam. Feelfree Vietnam is a relatively new business, being established in 2015 so travellers could participate in a safe local travel experience whilst exploring central Vietnam. Our aim is that our small group and personalised tours are run in a professional, socially responsible and sustainable way to what you would expect of a western managed business. We also take pride at offering a truly wonderful experience not only to visitors of Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue, but also with our tour groups interaction with locals who we have all become part of our biigger family!
On a more personal note, I have been leading tours as a professional tour guide since 1987. Having initially worked as a "courier" leading large group tours throughout Europe for several years, I eventually relocated back to Australia. I then worked for that well known "18-35's" company doing tours for international travellers on the east coast of Australia. Once again relocating back to my home state of South Australia, I enrolled and successfully completed a certificate in Travel & Tourism and spent many years in the hospitality industry in both Melbourne and Adelaide. Since 2001, I had been leading smaller group day tours throughout the regions surrounding Adelaide specialising in wine tours. Most recently after numerous holiday visits to Vietnam over many years, I decided on a new challenge and settled in this little gem called Hoi An, and created an exciting new business for people to experience the wonderful food and sights that Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue have to offer.
For piece of mind of prospective customers, I have a current Australian Police clearance to work with people of all ages including children with whom we welcome on tour, and both a current Senior First Aid certificate in First Aid & CPR in case of any emergencies that may transpire.
